The cost of flattery is depression

Sometimes the cost of flattery is depression.

People will praise you for what you are good at, but only you know what brings you to life. If you sway your life to fit in only with what you are praised for, you may completely miss what you are amazing at AND LOVE doing. Living like this will actually slowly drain you from the inside out. You may be busy, in demand, and making good money, but it will feel hollow.

Stay dialled into what makes you feel good when you do it. In time you will find the intersection between the way you love to contribute to society and the need in society, and that feels great.

Take risks. Say no to work that doesn’t quite fit. Say yes to risks and opportunities that have strong alignment. Experiment.
